The test setup is as follows:

System Specs:

Abit IC7-G with P4 2.8c
Asus V9280S/TVD Ti4200
1gb Corsair Twix1024-XMS4000 RAM
2 Western Digital “Raptors” RAID 0

Water Cooling:
Black Ice X2 PC Radiator for Dual 120mm Fans
2 Enermax 120mm Adjustable Fans
Ehiem 1250 Pump (320gph)
Danger Den Reservior
½” ID ClearFlex Tubing
Swiftech MCW5002 CPU Block
Swiftech MCW50 GPU Block *

* The MCW50 was left unmounted to ensure we were only testing the performance of the MCW5002.

The CPU and case temps were monitored with both Motherboard Monitor and Winbond Hardware Monitor applications (the ambient room temperature was 75F during the tests). Idle temps were taken after the system was booted up and sitting idle for one hour. Load temperatures were taken after the system was booted up and Folding@Home was run for 3 hours. Two instances of Folding were ran at the same time to ensure that the Hyper Threading was activated and that the CPU was at 100%. Readings were taken with the CPU running at stock speeds and overclocked to 250mhz FSB/3.5ghz with 1.7vCore.

We have included all the recent testing that we’ve done on this platform to provide a comparison of different cooling setups. As you can see, the extreme cooling setup with the Swiftech MCW5002 provides incredible cooling for the system. The temperature only changes a mere 2C from its idle temp to its load temp at stock speeds, and there is a 4C change at overclocked speeds. These results are simply amazing. One thing to keep in mind when looking at the table is that the extreme cooling setup we put together here costs somewhere in the vicinity of $240 while the Iceberg II is only about $90. Even adding the Zalman ZM-WB1 to the Iceberg kit only brings the cost up to about $135.
