Here we go again with yet another creation from Softtrading, the Denmark based distributors of Steelpad and Icemat products. As many of you may already know, I'm a big fan of the Steelpad 4S. I've never come across a pad whose accuracy could touch that of the 4S, but the 4S has a lot to deal with. It's great for gaming unless you're hot. If your hands get clammy, the moisture will cause the mouse to loose track on the pad. If you get any dirt or dust on the mouse feet, it sounds like your grinding sand into the pad.Finally, if your desk has any dust on it, then the 4S can begin to slide around. With all these negatives, it's still my favorite pad.

Sure there are a lot of other pads I'll use, but I immediately notice the difference. Even on Steelpad's 4D, trying to do intricate graphics was a pain in comparison to using the 4S. It is no where near as accurate. When SteelPad said they had a new pad coming out I was hoping for a 5S; thinking maybe they came out with a larger version but instead came the S&S. I was thinking it might just be a larger version of the 4D and lost my excitement quickly. Taking pictures of the unit got my curiosity boiling. It was nothing like the 4D; in fact, it was nothing like any pad I have seen before other than the fact it had a flat surface.
