Being dead in a game sucks! This is especially true if you play a game like COD2 where death forces you to spectate the other players while you wait to respawn or for the round to end. It gives you entirely too much time to reflect on the less than spectacular game play of guys usually named something like “Buttlicker”, “Noobert” or “Balzsnifer”. You sit watching these guys play and you ponder the cruel twist of fate that has allowed them to survive long after you. Of course if you're really bored you can turn to watching the “dead chat” as those unhappy deceased souls such as yourself type out odd bits of wisdom, trivia, insults, curses, and hacking allegations randomly about. Inevitably you are forced to wonder what you might do to avoid suffering this fate again next round.

Well I have a few tips for you here to help you avoid the future embarrassment of premature spectation. Most gamers are aware that a fast PC and a good internet connection improve frames per second and ping. Improved FPS and pings translate into better reaction times. If you play with the minimum requirements on the game box then you could be in for a rough ride. It seems to me that most of you also know that having a good high DPI mouse is critical as well. What I notice more than anything else though is that lots of gamers don't seem to be sure on where to set the “in game” sensitivity with these new super mice. Most professional gamers will tell you that ideally you want a low mouse sensitivity with a big mouse pad so that you can spread the movement over a large surface area. It is not uncommon to hear of high end gamers playing with around a 1.5 or lower in game sensitivity. Spreading the movement over a larger area allows for longer, more accurate hand movements that will greatly improve your aim (especially the distance shots). The problem with this is that most gamers don't allow themselves enough time to adjust to playing with the low sensitivity or they don't have a big enough mouse pad to keep them from having to pick up the mouse as they move around. So if you already have a high DPI mouse like the Logitech G5, MX518 or the Razor Copperhead then what you need is a big honking mouse pad. Well you are in luck, because today I am taking a look at the biggest production mouse pad I've ever seen. It's a new SteelPad product that aims to give you enough area to snipe flies off enemy helmets at 1000 yards and strike terror in the hearts of your opponents.
