You're trying to piece together that new computer and you're looking to get some decent performance-based memory, but would like to do it on the cheap right? It's an issue that anyone who has assembled their own rig has faced when it comes time to make the decisions. In the end, besides there being only one, the decision typically boils down to how fast you really want to go and whether or not you're willing to pay the premium price for those few extra clock cycles.

With memory speed specifications and other technical jargon tossed at the user as if it were part of their daily dictionary of words, is it any wonder people are constantly asking “What memory should I buy?”? Performance memory, like many sections of the computer market, seems to be an ever-growing segment that sees more new faces daily than your average airport terminal. One of these new faces in the market is SimpleTech.

Although they're likely not a household name in the enthusiast camp of users, SimpleTech has been manufacturing a wide array of memory products since 1990, so they're not exactly the new kid on the block. They're recently started to market a new product line called Nitro which is geared towards those folks who deem it necessary to push their hardware to the brink of extinction. Today, we'll be looking at the Nitro 1GB PC3700 matched pair memory kit from SimpleTech to see just what these modules have to offer the average consumer.
