Today we
add yet another memory manufacturer to the ever growing list of GruntvillE
reviews. Mushkin is a well known manufacturer of high-performance memory.
Just a few short years ago they were one of the only names in the game,
but today it's a different story. There are literally dozens of manufacturers
competing in this market. Mushkin is located in Denver , Colorado ; smack
dab in the Midwest . The US has become a popular place for distributors
of high-end memory. We have Corsair, Mushkin and new-comer to the performance
market Wintec.
Mushkin wanted us to take a peek at their latest product, the High Performance Level II Black VII. This memory has become popular among enthusiasts recently as it offers extremely tight timings and is said to overclock well. These are features that any GruntvillE reader is interested in. With PC4000 and above, we loose interest of the AMD audience as these modules only interest the Intel side. With PC3200, we have interest from both sides of the CPU front. With this in mind I'll be testing this memory out on both an Intel P4 2.4C and an Athlon64 3200+. No matter what you're running (short of DDR2) this memory should be of interest to everyone.
With that
in mind, we should have a slew of DDR2 reviews coming your way in a short
time including Mushkin's. We're revving up the systems now and look forward
to seeing who can nab and hold down the KOTH spot first.
