| Introduction |
There are a few components that enthusiasts simply love to play with. We all love processors and motherboards; those are the easy ones to figure out. We also love to see what we can do with the performance of new video cards, but the real passion for many is memory. There are so few components in a PC and yet so many of them greatly affect the overall performance. Memory is one of my favorite reviews. I get to directly compare system performance with module A to performance from module B.
Which one gives the best scores? Which one allows for the highest overclock? How tight can I get the timings and keep it stable? Memory has a direct impact on system performance. If the CL is high and the MHz are low, you can keep those sticks. I want the opposite; give me low CL and high MHz. Every tweaker I know is looking for the same thing. What memory gives me the best overclock at the lowest price?
Wintec saw this trend and claims to have found the answer. Wintec has long been a wholesale distributor for name brand products like Asus. In fact, they may have supplied your retailer with some of the parts on the computer you’re using now. Since 1988, they have grown to become one of the largest memory manufacturers in the US. That’s right, not only are they a distributor but a leading memory manufacturer as well.
Memory has become a popular review item at GruntvillE.com lately. We’ve looked at over 8 manufacturer’s products recently and I doubt it will stop there. It is one of the more important components in any system. Some people simply want a ton of it while others want their memory running as fast as possible. What ever your need for memory, keep in mind that memory may be marketed to specific areas such as stability in business or performance for gamers. Your best bet is to stick to the facts. Don’t be pulled into retail marketing. Just because memory is marketed to your area of interest does not mean that it’s the best for your needs. Read our reviews and compare specifications before you make a purchase. Some memory is better than advertised while others simply can’t live up.
Our benchmarking procedures are designed to weed out the weak. We’re looking for high-performance modules. We know the Grunts reading this are looking for one of two things in their modules; the best performance or the best performance for the dollar. Where ever it is that you fit in this equation, you’re sure to appreciate our memory reviews. |
