 Introduction

Living in Texas all my life, I consider my self a cooling expert. If you ever wondered why hell is hot, well it’s because heat is evil. Heat…Public Enemy #1 for your CPU. Whether you have a $200.00 CPU or a $1000.00 CPU, you want it to remain cool. Not only does heat damage, but it slows the CPU down. Air cooling is as important for the average CPU user as it is to the Overclocker.

There are many different CPU coolers on the market. There are copper, aluminum, copper/aluminum, fans, no fans, magnetic fans, etc etc….Price is the only limit for the user.

Today, the Heat Sink Fan (HSF) I will be reviewing is the Arkua Cooler 8568 for socket 478.

 Packaging
The Arkua HSF is packaged in a small colorful cardboard box.

When I opened the box, I noticed that the HSF is well supported from drops by the UPS guys. It was surrounded by foam and packed in a box full of peanuts. The Arkua heat sink surface had a thin protective cover, to prevent the surface from scratches.

Inside the packaging was a small pack of SIL heatsink thermal silicone compound, the Arkua cooler and an installation booklet. The installation booklet had some simple and direct diagrams of how to properly install the HSF.
