As you can see, Cool packaging is we have come to expect from AeroCool. The box is covered in vivid photos and full of feature rich text.

The contents of the box are safely nested inside different layers of packing material. When you first open the box you see the Coolpanel unit itself. Under the Coolpanel is a paper manual, a small baggie with screws and zip ties, and a bundle of cables.

The Coolpanel is looks aluminum at first glance, but don’t be fooled. It is actually an aluminum colored plastic. The color matches an aluminum case, like the Lian-Li, very well. There are a ton of ports on the front of the Coolpanel. Ports, ports and more ports for easy access. If you click on the thumbnail to see the larger photo, you can see that AeroCool clearly labels each port on the Coolpanel. Listed in some sort of order: Power LED, Access LED, USBx2, Multi-slot card reader (Compact Flash I/II, Sony Memory Stick, Memory stick Duo, Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick Duo Pro, Smart Media, SD, and Multimedia Card), Firewire, SATAx2, Line In, Line Out, Mic, Video, LCD, LCD settings, and adjustment knobs.

From the back view of the Coolpanel, you can see the bunch of connectors and many places to attach cables. Again, if you click on the photo for an enlarged view, the connectors are: Video Cable (hidden under the wire bunch), SATA cable (hidden in the bottom of the unit), Line in/out/mic (in the center of the unit), USB 2.0 (bottom center), and Card Reader (right side).

With all the available functions, ports and connectors…comes cables. And this Coolpanel comes with it many. The best part is that these cables are all separate…kind of modular. You don’t have to use firewire if you don’t feel like it. This really reduces the amount of unneeded clutter in your case.
