| INTRODUCTION |
Well there's no doubt in my mind that if you have a pc, you have drive cables.
Most of us are using IDE drives and most of us have a floppy. IDE drives
include: hard drives, CD-ROM's, CD/RW's. DVD-ROM's, etc. They all come standard
with a really flat, wide and in my opinion, ugly ribbon cable. These not
only look bad but can put a real kink in your airflow. Rounded IDE cables
on the other hand, look good, are easy to use and are friendlier to your
airflow. |
|
| Now I'm sure that most of you are familiar with rounded cables. You've
seen them in; clear, red, blue, black, yellow, green, pink, purple, fuchsia,
gray, white and even sky blue but you haven't seen these! Case-mod.com was
nice enough to send us some of their new flavors. They included a 10"
floppy and a 24" dual device ATA133 IDE cables that Glow-in-the-Dark.
They also sent over an 18" single device UV sensitive ATA133 cable.

| SPECIFICATIONS |
Well they are pretty standard affair for today's rounded cables. They are
compatible with ATA 66, 100 and 133. All three are done with a woven metal
mesh finish. The Glow-in-the-Dark cables have a translucent green plastic
protective cover while the UV sensitive one has a clear plastic protective
cover. They each come available in a both a 10" & 18" single
device floppy cable and 18"&24" dual device IDE cables. The
glow also come in a 10"single IDE and the UV comes in an 18" single
IDE. This gives everyone plenty of options to make a good clean fit. |
|
One thing I really liked about the cables is the fact that
they come in both single and dual device options. Many people, including
myself, only use IDE devices. This means that you can buy 1 double and 1
single device cable and not have an extra end floppin' around and destroying
airflow. Many of you have found little hiding spots for that extra connector
but I'm sure you'd agree that your rig would look better without it.
