to Building a PC

Well
it occurred to me that many of you are far from pros when it comes
to your computer. I know when I first got into computers I was afraid
I would wipe everything if I shut it down wrong, which back then was
a possibility. I've put together a little "How-To" on the
basics of building a PC. Well the hard part is picking out the parts.
I recommend doing a lot of research before dropping a lot of dough
on a new PC. I spend hours upon hours researching what I'm going to
buy. Most of us are on a budget and simply can't afford to buy the
best of everything. This is where research comes in handy. Read the
benchmarks of the products and make sure there isn't another product
out there that does better for less. Make sure to read more than one
review of a product. As many of you may have already found out, not
all reviews are straight forward. I can guarantee that all reviews
on GruntvillE are straight forward however I cannot say anything for
reviews done on other sites.
Make sure to check out the reseller ratings to make sure the vendor
you choose to buy from hasn't had a lot of problems. Just because
a vendor doesn't have many reviews isn't a sign they do bad business,
on the contrary. If a deal goes as it should, many of us don't think
to take the time out to give them a favorable write-up but most of
us will take the time to let others know of a bad experience we've
had. There was also a change in ownership of a large retailer review
site and many of the reviews were lost. Take the time out to ask others
if they've done business with them, read the return policy and speak
with the people directly. You can tell a lot about a vendor very quickly
by simply calling them up.
Well I was lucky enough to get a call from a friend that was buying
parts for a new PC. He asked in all his politeness if I could help
him out. Being the type of person that is never asked to help with
computer problems (cough BS cough,) I asked him if it would be alright
if I did a little article using his new parts. After he thought it
over and agreed to let me keep his new baby for a few days"Oh
the horror of waiting," I got started. He spent some time reviewing
the products he wanted and he also kept the looks of products as an
importance to his mod theme.
